ACTION PLAN

Through this scheme, aspiring Entrepreneurs are explained about the various scheme and activities of the Department and benefits available to them.

TRAINING INSIDE & OUTSIDE THE STATE.

The basic purpose of the scheme is to provide Training to the deserving young Boys & Girls to develop their skills by imparting training in the Government Institute as well as Private Institute. In Government Saw Mill Cum Mechanized Carpentry workshop, Umsning is the main Training centre to provide training in Furniture Making with a Monthly Stipend of Rs. 500/- per month subject to good conducts and regular attendance.

MASTERCRAFTSMAN TRAINING SCHEME

The main aim of this scheme is to provide training to local boys and girls by an expert (Mastercraftsman) in a particular trade to develop their skills for self employment. It also helps in sustaining the livelihood of the Mastercraftsman and also preserves our traditional skills and culture. The trainees under this scheme are also provided with a Stipend of Rs. 500/- per month.

EXHIBITION CUM SALES.

Basically the Exhibition is held every year to provide opportunity to expose Local Entrepreneur and their product to the local population. The Exhibition is held to provide the Entrepreneurs an opportunity to showcase their skills/products and has also brought awareness on quality and competitiveness. The participation of different Government Departments and large industrial units has provided a fillip to our local entrepreneurs to develop contacts and enhance their sales.

GRANTS IN AIDS

This particular Scheme provides incentives to the Passed out Trainees as a part of follow up action.

PRIME MINISTER EMPLOYMENT GENERATION PROGRAMME.(P.M.E.G.P.)

This is a Central Sponsored Scheme to provide financial help to the deserving Educated Unemployed Youth for self employment and a new credit linked subsidy programmed whose primary objective is to generate employment through the establishment of Industrial and Services enterprise with a sanction limit of Rs.25 lakhs for Manufacturing and Rs.10 lakhs for service sector Beneficiaries contribution of 5% to 10% for ST/SC/OBC Minorities and General respectively .Subsidy to the tune of 35%in rural and 25% in urban areas is provided. Individuals above 18 years, SHG, Co-operatives Societies are eligible for the scheme. It is applicable to new units only not for the existing Units or those who have already availed the Government assistant. It implement through the D.C.I.C, M.K.V.I.B and K.V.I.C.

ENTREPRENUERSHIP DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME.

The Department also conducted E.D.P. to train the unemployed youths and instilling in them the interest for setting up industries, business, etc.

AWARENESS PROGRAMME

As part of action plan, the DCIC, Nongpoh conducts Awareness Programme in the rural areas of the district to generate awareness and encourage individuals and groups to set up Micro and small enterprise based on their skills and local resources available. About 900 participants have been covered so far under this programme. .

REGISTRATION OF INDUSTRY.

Registration of industries under EM I & EM II is a must for all those entrepreneurs who are planning to set up Industries, so that they can avail loan, Subsidy, etc.
